As part of what will be an ongoing program, we have refurbished two older desktop computers (Contributed by two wonderful customers!) with the idea of giving them away to families with low income who need a computer but cannot afford one. They include a CPU unit, monitor, keyboard and mouse and are pre-installed with a free anti-virus software and Apache OpenOffice (A free Microsoft-Office compatible office suite). If you know of a family in Wheatland County (or our extended service area) who needs a computer but is unable to afford one, please have them contact us at (403) 901-3487 or via email at needcomputer@countryroadcomputer.ca, or submit an application via our program page (https://countryroadcomputer.ca/free-computers-program/)
Also, If you have an older computer (A desktop or laptop with Windows Vista or newer) in working condition that you would like to donate to a family in need, please contact us. Computers can be dropped off at our shop or we can arrange pickup. We are also pleased to offer a discount of $50 off one of our refurbished computers to anyone donating a computer.
